Jay grew up in the surroundings of family businesses, witnessing the highs and lows, ever changing market conditions, the challenge to transition leadership to the next generation, and the eventual closing of the businesses. 

In his own career, whether as CEO of a state-wide nonprofit or Senior Vice President at national university, he’s led with earnestness, compassion, and a deep belief in the power of collaboration. From raising hundreds of millions of dollars and overseeing mergers, to leading strategic planning and navigating crises, Jay’s career has been defined by his ability to navigate complicated issues through committed relationships. 

Today, Jay is a dynamic, people-centered leader with nearly 30 years of experience guiding for-profit and mission-driven organizations through growth, change, and success.  

Jay’s warm, engaging style puts people at ease, and he’s never afraid to lean into tough conversations. With a love for teaching and over 30 years of experience in the classroom, Jay inspires organizations to align their actions with their goals—building stronger, more cohesive teams along the way.
